Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program
Effective and Focused Treatment
Northland’s Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program provides patients with rehabilitation treatment, relapse prevention, education and other services toward full addiction recovery. Our methods place patients in a supportive, flexible, and convenient atmosphere.
All treatment options begin with a diagnostic assessment that helps Northland’s staff determine the appropriate substance abuse services (including detoxification) for each patient.
Once placed in our intensive outpatient program (IOP), patients will undergo counseling and education in both individual and group settings to achieve abstinence and develop a self-responsible plan of addiction recovery. Outpatient treatment programs typically last a minimum of 6-8 weeks depending on progress, and involve 3-4 counseling sessions per week in both group and individual sessions.
Participation in 12-Step Recovery-based activities such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is a required portion of the Intensive Outpatient program and is viewed as a necessary parallel path of recovery to maintain lifelong sobriety. We offer several open AA meetings per week. The Northland program requires that patients not use drugs or alcohol (outside of medication assistance from our own doctors), and we randomly drug test to ensure this.
The IOP at Northland is available to all who qualify through our diagnostic assessment. It is also the second step to our medication-assisted opiate treatment program.
